Vikings Kokoda Trek
Vikings Kokoda Trek
Story
Hello -
Three weeks ago I was part of a fantastic group of guys, the Kokoda Vikings. We trekked the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea from South to North, 96 very difficult kilometres over 8 hard days. It was for all of us a life changing experience, and one which none of us will soon forget.
As well completing this challenge, we saw first hand how the people of PNG live, both in the urban areas and particularly in the remote jungles we trekked through. Many of these people live a subsistence lifestyle eating only what they can grow, and they lack the very basic amenities which we take for granted, not the least of which being medical care.
The Kokoda Vikings has through Interplast, been raising money for the underprivileged people of Papua New Guinea. Many of their forebears gave their lives for our troops during the Kokoda Campaign in World War Two and we saw firsthand what a superhuman effort this was. We are now collectively making one last push to reach our fundraising target, so that we can fund Interplast on a medical mission to PNG.
To donate and support me, please follow the prompts, and don't forget to leave me a message : )
I appreciate any support at all for this vital cause, thank you for your contribution.
For friends and colleagues outside Australia, please note that contributions are in Australian Dollars.
Cheers!
